The Madison Theatre Guild Home Page
Founded in 1946, the Madison Theatre Guild (MTG) is Madison's oldest community theater group, having produced nearly 400 shows for all ages in its illustrious history. One of the original participating theatre companies in the Bartell Community Foundation, MTG
performs on both stages of the Bartell Theatre at 113 E. Mifflin Street, just off the square, in Madison, and has offices, rehearsal spaces, set shop, prop and furniture storage spaces and the Madison Theatre Guild Costume Shop all housed in a 1939 Firehouse at 2410 Monroe Street. With the best collection of rentable theatrical costumes and properties in Madison, and an always-aggressive season of productions and opportunities for volunteers of all ages and skills, MTG remains, after 60 years, the premiere Community Theatre in Madison.
MTG ANNUAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING
The annual membership meeting will be held on Sunday, June 28th, at 1:00 p.m. at the offices of Quarles & Brady, LLP, at 33 E. Main St., Suite 900. A voting member is anyone who has paid membership dues by March 2009 or participated as cast or crew in MTG's 2008-2009 season.
The main item on the agenda is the election of board members. Please consider running for the board. An MTG Board Member is expected to attend monthly board meetings, actively serve on committees, and be enthusiastically committed to the ongoing success of MTG.
Note: The main entrance to the building (33 E. Main) is inaccessible on Sundays. Park in the visitors' parking area (see below), and come up to the 9th floor through the 33 East Main elevators from that level. That's the only way you will be able to enter. The entrance will be open only between 12:30 and 1:30, so do try to get there on time
Parking:
Attendees should park in the Block 89 parking ramp on the outer ring of the square. The entrance to the parking ramp is located near 10 E. Doty Street between Martin Luther King Junior Boulevard and South Pinckney Street, directly across the street from the Madison Municipal Building. Please take a ticket from the ticket-dispensing machine as you enter the ramp and bring it with you and the Quarles & Brady receptionist will validate it upon your arrival. Please use the first level of the parking ramp which is reserved for visitors. Take the elevator (the elevator marked "33 East Main" as there are three banks of elevators in the parking structure) to level 9. Quarles & Brady's Lobby and Conference rooms are located on the 9th Floor.
Hope to see you there.

Bartell Help Needed
The Bartell Theatre, 113 E. Mifflin Street, is a cooperative, operated jointly by its resident theatre companies. MTG is one of them. What this means is that all the resident companies have to pitch in now and again to work on the maintenance of the Bartell itself. Currently, a series of work days-- principally to repair the Bartell's lighting equipment, but also to take care of other routine maintenance, such as painting-- is being planned.
To help, you need no special knowledge or experience. If you know nothing about lighting equipment, training sessions will be provided at the beginning of each work day. (So if you need training, please do make sure you arrive at the start of the work day.)
We are planning work days at the following times:
Monday, July 6, 10:30 am
Tuesday, July 7, 6:30 pm
Wednesday, July 8, 6:30 pm
Thursday, July 9, 6:30 pm
Friday, July 10, 6:30 pm
Saturday, July 11, 10:30 am
Any help you can give will be greatly appreciated. If possible, let us know what days/times you would be available. Contact Scott at: sdh@mail.slh.wisc.edu. But if a last minute impulse seizes you, feel free to drop in unannounced. I'm sure we'll find something for you to do.
Thanks so much. Let's all pitch in to keep the Bartell going.
